Valérie Gonzalez is a Research Associate at SOAS, University of London, specializing in the
history of Islamic art and civilization. With a Ph.D. in Human Sciences from the University
de Provence Aix-Marseille, her research focuses on the history of enameled metalwork in
Islamic Spain and North Africa. She has received numerous awards and fellowships,
including a fellowship at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence and a visiting scholar
position at the Getty Research Institute. Valérie is proficient in French, English, Spanish,
Italian, and Arabic.
